Using street interviews on a taboo topic to launch a new product

Market-leading adult lifestyle brand, LELO, was launching a new product in the ‘massager’ range, which was set to send waves through the luxury adult toy market. As part of the upcoming launch, the PR team wanted to produce a short and snappy film featuring consumers interacting with a model of an unknown giant organ (specific to the female anatomy…), capturing their confusion and misunderstanding as to what they were being presented with.

We met this brief by pitching up in London’s Carnaby Street on a sunny Friday, approaching a very diverse range of the public, challenging them to see if they knew what the mysterious item was… Responses ranged from ‘coat-hanger’, ‘back-scratcher’ and ‘… the clitoris’.

From the content captured, we produced a short and snappy 3-minute film, presenting the confusion around the ‘mysterious item’, while also adding in animated text to tell the story and market this new and exciting product.

“The end result was completely on point and lived up to our vision we had for this from the very beginning. The briefing process was simple and we felt the tam at vox pop agency were completely on the same page from the very start. Great team, great process and amazing result.”
