The Royal Horticultural Society needed beautiful and engaging social and website videos of the Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival to promote ticket sales for 2022. They required 3 x short videos for a paid social media campaign going live in early 2022 as well as 2-3 min edit of visitor reactions and stunning footage of the festival for their website. We stepped in to film and produce thoughtful and creative content that shows off the beauty of the event and the many experiences to be had there.
“This was an ‘urgent’ job – they turned around a response to brief that was spot on very quickly. They were excellent in the field, listening to what we wanted with an eye on the end result. The videos are fabulous and very different from what we have produced before.”

Initial Steps
Upon the kick-off call we worked with the client to build a clear picture of the event and everything going on. We also gained a clear understanding of the key aspects of the festival to feature which included: the show gardens, specialist nurseries, floral marquee, the allotments, the open-air talks and demos, cooking stages, live music, dancing, food and drink, the palace grounds and of course, plants and flowers!
It was agreed that the final videos would be: beautiful, unique, inclusive, passionate, inspiring, celebratory and summery!
We created a schedule and shot guide to capture the vast array of goings on and a rough storyboard for each video. We spent two long days filming the event and recruiting visitors on the spot to give their feedback and impressions of the event. Their enthusiasm was palpable and we captured soundbites from a diverse spread of attendees who all had lots of wonderful things to say about their experience. It was inspiring to see so many different people united by one thing – their love of gardening. We captured this by filming portraits of the many people who’d bought plants and were proudly holding them before heading home (see below). These featured as the end shots for the longer website edit.
The Result
The final edits are colourful, joyful and inspiring. We created animated Call to Action graphics which feature across all videos. The short social videos will go live in spring 2022 on a social media campaign but in the meantime, the longer 2 minute edit can be watched on the Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival webpage.
