This style of training video puts your CEO, management, colleagues or stakeholders in the hot seat. Visualising the decision maker or those impacted by decisions brings to life the importance of business processes and messages. This approach is perfect if you need to explain a product, service or process visually but don’t have the capacity to run training sessions with everyone involved. This style of training video involves filming set-up scenarios with actors to run through different scenarios and how to handle them appropriately. The most common application is to show different customer interactions and how to handle these appropriately, including face to face and call centre based scenarios. These training videos are also commonly used in training workshops to spark discussion and increase engagement with best practice. Unfortunately, these videos are often too sensitive to share publicly.

Below is a client testimonial from two of our clients at John Lewis Finance surrounding the impact of using training videos. They produced training videos that included interviews with customer experience managers, third-party advisors and directors to communicate key messages in their brand training sessions.


Southern Housing Group created this colleague pledge film to support the launch of a new company strategy. The objective was to inspire colleagues to live and breathe the new company values. To make them feel included in the overall strategy and understand how they personally make an impact. We spent two days interviewing 100 colleagues across the country and many different departments to demonstrate company-wide involvement in the project.


Costa was planning the launch of a new platform, Costa Way. In preperation for the launch of this platform, we created a number of training videos, including the one below, covering key areas for training such as best practice for hot and cold drinks, table touching, store managing, electronic probes, surface preparation, upselling and the customer journey. We also created an explainer animation for the launch of the new platform to bring Costa Way to life in an engaging way, explaining what this business change was all about and why it was happening.


See the feedback from M&S Food’s Learning & Development Manager following a number of training videos we created for the team. These videos all had a different look and feel to meet with different objectives; from enthusing new starters to selling Learning & Development workshops to the wider business. The videos have had a tangible impact, increasing workshop subscriptions to the point where they are oversubscribed, as well as having a notable impact on peoples’ enthusiasm in the workshop.


This case study is a combination of objectives across both consumer insight, comms and training – but it is a great example of how video portals can be used to share knowledge internationally without having to travel around the world. Working with Lucy Wood, CMI Unilever, we produced more than 350 videos from over 30 markets around the globe. These videos were all made accessible through ‘People View’, Unilever’s one-stop-shop video portal that allowed staff to get intimately closer with their international customers.
