Typical vox pops production process

Creative Brainstorming

During the kick-off stages of a vox pops project we will take a holistic view of your objectives. We will explore in detail your end goal, what success looks like for you, expectations for the project and specifics relating to video content and deliverables.

 

We will share relevant examples of & explore ideas for your project, working collaboratively and inputting our expertise to create a bespoke concept that works for you.

Project Design

Next, we will create a discussion guide that will elicit insightful and engaging responses to the research topic. For more creative vox pops projects, we may also include a shot guide to visualise the respondents’ environments and surroundings.

 

We will take the time to select locations with the highest footfall of your target audience for intercept interviews, whether in the UK or overseas.

Recruitment & Fieldwork

Recruitment for vox pops is conducted ‘in-situ’, or, on location. This makes them an obvious way to explore topics that relate to a customer’s experience, consumer behaviour or any topic that the general public will have an opinion on.

 

We are also able to target hard to reach audiences such as vegans, Premium Edition Telegraph app users, caravanners, holidaymakers in Gatwick returning to the UK, on-train shoppers and more. Our responsive network of camera crews and moderators around the world makes vox pops projects the go-to if quick turnaround times are a must.

Analysis & editing

It is at this stage in the process that our market research experience comes into play. We will analyse the footage and group responses by key themes, demographics or questions. This is handled by Vox Pop’s staff, which ensures that nuances, expressions and a human touch doesn’t get overlooked in place of keywords.

 

We will translate and subtitle the footage, creating ‘long edits’ that you will have the opportunity to feedback on – selecting quotes for the final edits. If required, we will also write up transcripts at this point.

Production

We will then use your feedback and our understanding of your objectives to cut down the ‘long edits’ into impactful video content that realizes your objectives. We will incorporate b-roll footage, select background music and add any stylistic touches planned in the kick-off and design stages.

 

As a result of this process, which merges research analysis and video production, we will deliver insightful video content the summarises your consumer feedback in a format that is out-the-box ready to present.
